AJC Article Highlights 55+ Communities in Atlanta, Quotes Jim Chapman

Earlier this month, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution quoted Jim Chapman in print and online in an in-depth article about 55+ communities in the greater Atlanta area. Jim is president of Jim Chapman Communities as well as 2016 chairman of the NAHB 55+ Housing Industry Council.

Currently, he is developing a number of beautiful new age-restricted communities, and more will be announced soon.

Sweet Briar Farms, a private gated age-restricted community in Cherokee County, includes a total of 85 lots on 68 acres of former farmland, which translates into a spacious layout with 1.2 units per acre.

It is located just 3 miles from the vibrant downtown area of Woodstock, conveniently close to shopping, dining, healthcare and entertainment, and 2 miles north of SR92, with easy access to Atlanta with its business centers, world-class airport and renowned universities.

The Overlook at Old Atlanta, located in South Forsyth County, is conveniently close to Atlanta as well as Lake Lanier and the north Georgia mountains. The gated community will ultimately feature 130 homes, including 56 detached single-family homes with 3 or 4 bedrooms each, plus 74 attached villas with 3 bedrooms each. All maintenance-free homes will include 2-car attached garages with covered entry, plus rear porches as well as rear patios. Finished basements and 3-car garage options are available.

Furthermore, Chapman has announced that he will soon start construction on The Cottages at Horseshoe Bend. This brand-new enclave will consist of 19 single family, detached age-targeted homes in Horseshoe Bend, the premier country club community nestled along the Chattahoochee River in North Fulton.

According to the article, “Jim Chapman said moving to a 55+ community is a luxury since it offers an opportunity to embrace a ‘lock & leave’ lifestyle. In other words, flexibility to leave without all the baggage.” For the full article, click here.

“We offer active adults the kind of homes that suit their lifestyle,” says Chapman. “Homeowners in this stage of their lives look for single-level floorplans, access to outstanding amenities and a superior location – and above all, carefree living.”
